About Facsimile Reprints

A facsimile reprint isn’t a photocopy. It’s a printed and bound book, with pages that are high-quality photographic duplicates of those in the original work. If the original type is excessively small or difficult to read the facsimile may be enlarged, but most facsimiles are made the same size as the original. Often a modern introduction, written to provide information about the original work and its author, is added. Sometimes the cover of the book is a reproduction of the original cover, but this occurs infrequently.
